Dr David O’Brien is a former technology executive with over 30 years experience covering research, manufacturing, international sales, new ventures and executive management. Originally from Wales, U.K. he received B.S, M.S and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wales. He has an MBA from the University of Santa Clara, Ca. Dr O’Brien was part of the technology team that established Nova Devices a start up company funded and later acquired by Analog Devices to form ADI Semiconductor. Moving to California he held various positions at Fairchild Semiconductor including Division Operations Director. Later as President of Precision Monolithics he combined new technology with an expanded marketing perspective to significantly grow the company during his tenure. Dr O’Brien was then recruited as President and CEO of Elantec Semiconductor, a venture capital backed new company. Focusing on International Sales strategic alliances and unique products Elantec grew substantially and had a successful Initial Public Offering on NASDAQ in 1995. Dr O’Brien holds several patents for semiconductor technology and has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of University College of Swansea, Wales.
